In December 2009 a webinar, Canada’s Portal to International Clinical Trials: An In-Depth View of Russia and Its Neighbors, was presented by three speakers from MBQ including Anna Anokhina, Director of Regulatory Affairs, Dr. Anastasya Lukina, Global Program Director, and Dr. Alexander Shepetko, Clinical Operations Manager in Ukraine. The webinar focused on how a Canadian company looking to conduct clinical trials can access the fast-growing markets in Russia and the neighboring states of Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, and Kazakhstan. Content featured in the seminar focused on regulatory strategies, site selection, reducing costs, incidence of particular indications across many therapeutic areas, and how these regions differ from traditional research locations.

In October 2009 a seminar, Insight into Emerging Markets, was held in New Brunswick, New Jersey and King of Prussia, Pennsylvania in the USA featuring speakers from MBQ/POI. The seminar covered best practices for conducting clinical trials in Eastern Europe, India, Latin America, and South Africa. Speakers included: Dr. Anastasya Lukina, Global Program Director (Russia), Dr. Jorge Fiuza, Senior Director Latin American Operations, Thanuja Naidu, Clinical Operations Manager (India), and Petro de Wet, Clinical Operations Manager (South Africa).

The topics covered by the seminars and the webinar, provided in-depth insight into emerging markets for clinical research and were met with high-regard.
